The reason she had stopped was because of the sign that was posted in front of the small store. It said 'WIN BIG...WITH THE LOTTERY!!' For some reason, she had a 'vibe' that today might be her day. But, once inside, she had a change of heart. As she looked at the lottery pamphlet, and read through the rules, she came upon the odds of winning. The odds of her winnig were about as many against her as the money amount to be won.

Thinking maybe she had better places to spend her money, she turned to leave. As she did, the attendant behind the counter called to her, and she turned back around. Reaching towards her, the attendant handed her another pamphlet. This one contained stories of those who had won the lotteries in the past.

Flipping through the pamphlet, she scanned the titles:

THE LOTTERY...by Aly
AND THE WINNER IS...by Trace

Thinking maybe this needed a little further looking into, she walked out the door, and to her car. Opening the door, and sitting down, she opened the pamphlet, and began with the first tale....

Having finished the stories in the pamphlet, and reentering the small store, she walked up to the attendant, and smiled. 'I would like to play the lottery this week,' she said, 'who knows, I may win.'
