Episode 105 - Friend

Nikita right from the get go jumps into an EMS maneuver when Julie recognizes her and Nikita pretends not to recognize her. Nikita actually follows Section policy and reports the incident back to Michael like a good little operative. Could this be Nikita actually following Section policy? I almost fell from my chair. But no, she is pulling a fast one on our Spyboy, should have known that nonchalance act was a put on. Nikita held true to character. As soon as she left Section she went to commit another EMS by kidnapping Julie and stashing her at Nikita’s apartment before Section had a chance to grab her.

When Michael shows up at the apartment demanding to know whether she had anything to do with Julie’s kidnapping. The girl cool as a cucumber lies to him yet another EMS on her part.

Now our Spyboy does a halfhearted search of Nikita’s apartment and you can tell that he is upset at this whole situation, anymore hair playing and tucking was going to drive me mad. So he issues Nikita the first of the Michael’s Unspoken Warnings, something Nikita ignores and realizes what he meant too late. He tells her that it would be better for her and her friend if Julie were in Section’s custody, which of course turns out to be true.

Next up is Nikita who does a Mission Save when the sniper aims for Michael who is standing in front of the bathroom door where Mijovich is. Nikita pushes him out of danger. I have to say that the whole action sequence here kicked butt especially when Michael leans over to cover the bullet hole as to not distress Mijovich! Slick move on his part.

When Nikita returns home from the mission and as she guards Julie, she hears a noise and was in the midst of saving of Julie from the baddies in a misguided EMS maneuver, which we all know is pointless. Since Nikita had been harboring the black widow all along in her home. And what does Nikita get for all her trouble? A mega torture session that no one should go through.

I assume Michael does another Section Politics Save by not reporting Nikita’s disappearance immediately. What a nice man he is. Then of course comes another of my favorite Michael dramatic entrances in the process of an EMS that had me making vivid exclamations from my seat when I saw him coming through that window. Had me reaching for the rewind button, the man knows how to make a lasting impression. Well, ladies and gents this EMS has a twist of Section Politics Save thrown in shaken not stirred. For he tells Nikita the story they are going to feed to Operations and Madeline as to what supposedly happened. Michael is covering for Nikita big time here for should her role in this mess be found out cancellation would be imminent.

Nikita saves Mijovich through a Mission Save but it is far from simple. For Nikita has real feelings for "Julie" that she must thrust aside in order to do her job which she does but at what cost?

Now finally Michael is the one who gets his own Section Wake Up Call Attempt from Operations about his involvement with Nikita in the end for not finding Julie in the first place. Although at first glance I thought he was going to get reamed for everything else he had done to save Nikita. He has the best poker face. Remind me never to sit and play with him!

Episode 106 - Treason

Michael starts with an EMS, he breaks position and leaves the van to save Nikita from Suba’s unwanted advances. Though personally I would have liked seeing her squash him like a bug. But it was worth seeing Michael utter his famous advice, "Don’t get married!" Loved it!

When the tracker Nikita planted on Suba lead them to a trap. Nikita, Mission Saves Roger during the shootout. Upon their return Michael and Nikita were scolded like two tardy children when they came in from the debacle of the mission, they were lucky they weren’t killed. A Section Logic scolding for Nikita from Madeline about her role and what is now expected from her.

Now Nikita does a big EMS for Roger with an ES thrown in for good measure. When she first does nothing to inform Section of the traitor in midst and second when she goes off on her own in an attempt to save the child. You have to give her credit she tries to stick to her principles in the unprincipled world that she has to live in.

Even though her attempt to save the child fails and she gets the Section in on it to assist her all the while still not betraying Roger. She is becoming a smoother operator at trying to use the Section instead of the other way around in this SPS but she is still a novice as Operations and Madeline see through this.

The Mexican standoff with Suba is an EMS cause we all know Section would have thought the child expendable. At the end first, Michael tries the Emotional Save by telling Nikita’s that Roger had been transferred and downgraded to a subsection. He does not want to tell her that Roger has been cancelled. Michael attempts to use Section Logic Save when rationalizing Roger's death to Nikita but Nikita is having none of that. A tearful Nikita turns to Madeline who attempts to Section Logic and an Emotional Save when Madeline gives us the "Don’t let your humanity get in the way" lecture. Let me get this right she expect Madeline to explain things to her in a way that wouldn’t hurt? Hmm I could have told you that was not going to happen.

Episode 107 - Mother

Now this episode is brief Michael gets another SWUC from Operations pertaining to the fact that Nikita may have to sacrifice. Had no clue what they were talking about here. At first glance I thought that maybe they were going to kill her but decided against it. Michael was agitated by the news but not distraught.

Then Michael tries to Twist the Mission Profile Save by searching for another lead in order to save Nikita from making the sacrifice. But as Madeline bluntly points out in her own Section Logic Save that Nikita will be making the sacrifice. She rolls into an Emotional Save about him prepping for it. Madeline sure knows how to multitask.

In the final act Nikita does an emotional save for Helen Wick by asking Michael not tell the truth about her daughter. Now as to what is a Section sacrifice, it is not so pretty. Poor Nikita looked tuckered out by the whole thing and I know why Michael was running around hoping to prevent it.
