Part Five

Thursday started off with clear skies and cool crisp temperatures. The forecasts were calling for snow flurries later in the day and the girls were looking forward to the hayride later that evening. The girls were sitting and having their breakfast. This morning it was pancakes soaked with maple syrup, scrambled eggs and sausage and lots of freshly squeezed orange juice. They certainly weren't going hungry while on this 'mini' vacation.

"So Sherry, have you decided what dress you are going to wear to the dance tomorrow night?" Rita asked as she speared another sausage and raised it to her mouth. "I am having a hard time deciding between my two final choices."

"How many did you bring?" Curlly asked.

"Three. How about you? I know you didn't bring just one." she teased Curlly. She had seen how many bags she had brought along.

Sherry laughed at the two girls. Curlly was known for her indecisiveness and always brought way more than was needed. "I only brought one dressy outfit along so I don't have a problem with what I am going to wear."

North came walking up to the table as the girls were discussing their dresses. "I thought you girls were all keeping this a secret?"

"Oh but we will North, don’t worry." Curlly responded. "Besides even if I knew now what I wanted to wear chances are that I would change my mind at the last minute."

All the girls laughed at that. What Curlly had said was so true. Thank goodness she didn’t have to decide what to wear on missions. "Well you make sure you dress warm for the hayride tonight." North continued. "I think it’s going to be the perfect night for it. Scott and Mark were out this morning already getting the hay put on the wagons. Well, I’ll catch you girls later."

They hayride did prove to be a huge success as the girls stepped off the wagons later that night. Kristen had some sandwiches and hot chocolate waiting for them once they got their coats and hats and mitts off and it wasn’t long before every last crumb was gone. When North finally had a chance to corner Kristen on her own, she asked if the other guests had arrived yet.

"Oh yes North, they got here soon after you all left on the ride. We couldn’t have planned that better if we tried. They got checked in and Scott took them all to their chalets. They were pretty tired from the trip up so I don’t think we’ll be seeing any of them tonight anymore."

"Good. I mean good that they got here when they did, not that they’re tired." She chuckled. "I can’t wait to see how the girls act when they see them tomorrow."

Kristen looked to her friend. "Do you mean to tell me that you told absolutely no one that they were coming?" North shook her head in the negative. "I am amazed at you girl."

"Kristen, there are times that I do know how to keep a secret you know." North responded indignantly. When she saw the look on Kristen’s face she burst out laughing. "Really. I have been known to keep my big mouth shut."

Kristen got a smug look on her face. "Well that makes two of us then."

"What? What haven’t you told me?" North demanded.

"Never you mind. Oh, I almost forgot, I have a message for you."

"Message?"

"Yeah, Eugene told me to tell you, that if you got back early enough, to call him and if they were still up that you should drop in."

North glanced at her watch and seeing as it was still fairly early nodded to Kristen. "Okay, I’ll go do that now. They should still be up. And don’t think I didn’t notice how you changed the subject there dear girl. I’ll remember that for sure. Anyway, I’ll go call now and I’ll catch up with you later. Oh and if anyone asks I went for a walk."

"Okay Northy, have fun and enjoy your visit. I’ll cover for you."

Part Six

The next morning a group of them were just entering the dining room when Andrea, the first one in, just stopped dead in her tracks.

"Hey what’s going on? Why did you stop Andrea?"

Andrea turned back to stare openmouthed at the others. "You… you… w.w.won’t believe who I just saw." She managed to stammer out. It wasn’t like Andrea to be at a loss for words and it surprised some of the girls.

Trace and Aly, both hating it when someone kept them from their food, barged through the cluster of girls and made their way into the dining room. "Oh for crying out loud girls it’s only Don, Eugene, his wife and the rest of the cast of LFN."

"What do you mean only? OH I get it, this is all old hat to you two isn’t it?" cried DragonLady. "Well let the rest of us through for goodness sake. At least with you guys out of the way and not in awe anymore then that will just leave more room for the rest of us."

By this time everyone else in the dining room had stopped what they had been doing and they were watching the goings on in the entranceway. Don made his way forward and greeted all the ladies. He said a very special hello to Andrea whom he had met at a fan gathering a few months previous. "Well girls, don’t just stand there rubbernecking, come on in for goodness sakes."

Having broken the ice, so to speak, Don personally escorted the girls to their tables and as he did he told them to enjoy their breakfast, if they could, and they would get to meet the rest of them afterwards. Taking him at his word the girls settled down somewhat and managed to eat.

Scott and Kristen had set up the lounge for after breakfast and in no time at all it had been filled with the chattering girls. A very informal question and answer period was held so that all of them had a chance to spend some time with all the stars. Roy and Peta were no in attendance due to prior commitments, and some of the girls were a bit disappointed, but all in all they had a wonderful time. Matthew came as a big surprise for some. He seemed more mature in person than he was on the show. The day passed quickly and soon it was time to get ready for the dinner and dance. Soon the girls started drifting away as they needed time to do hair and get dressed.
