Marco's Fashion Retraining

By Aries

Part One:

Aries and Marco were enjoying a relaxing afternoon just wandering around from shop to shop discovering things that each other liked. They talked constantly and found that they had even more in common than either had previously thought, at least until they started into clothes stores.

Aries held up various outfits that she thought would look good on Marco and he rejected most of them. He headed over to the racks that held the most atrocious looking clothes Aries had ever seen in her life. Somehow she'd managed to get rid of the hideous cow shirt when he wasn't looking, but there was no way that this could continue.

"Marco, why don't you try this on?" Aries asked softly holding up an incredible looking suit.

"Why?" Marco asked stubbornly.

"Because I think it would look good on you! The color brings out the color of your eyes!" Aries said and held it up to him and then nodded her head.

"I'll try it on for you." Marco said and grabbed the outfit. He headed into the nearest dressing room and came out with a disgusted look on his face. "You can't actually want me to wear this outfit?"

"Why not wear it Marco? I was right, it looks great on you!" Aries said and stepped over to where he was standing. She smoothed out the wrinkles and checked out the seams making sure that they were of high quality. How stylish the outfit looked impressed her and how it being on Marco's body made the outfit look even better.

"Don't even get me started on why I don't like this outfit!" Marco said and looked at her. He wasn't quite sure what she was up to but he would find out soon enough!

"Come on! It's not that bad! It's not like I'm trying to dress you in that thing!" Aries said and pointed up to the hippie outfit on a mannequin hanging from the wall.

"Man, I like that outfit!" Marco said and walked over to the rack that held that outfit. Aries rolled her eyes in exasperation. This was going to be a bit harder than she thought. She wasn't ready to give up just yet though, somehow, she'd get him to come around to her way of thinking, she just didn't know how just yet.

Aries let him browse a bit and thought of different ideas of what she could do about his fashion sense. Everyone in CLHQ was saying that they were the oddest couple just because she dressed in high fashion quality and he didn't. That wasn't bothering her so much as the fact that she couldn't stand what he wore most of the he was in tight leather mission pants. Marco was definitely in retraining as far as she was concerned.

Eventually, Marco went back into the dressing room and changed out of the outfit that Aries had talked him into trying on and back into the clothes that he'd worn into the store. He'd neatly placed the clothes back onto the hanger and came back out.

"So, you really do like this outfit on me?" He asked coming up behind her and speaking softly into her ear while holding the outfit out in front of both of them.

"Yes, I do." Aries replied simply to him turning around to place a kiss on his mouth.

"You want me to buy this correct?" He asked placing a teasing kiss on her forehead. She knew what he was up to but played along.

"You don't have to, but I would like to see you buy it and actually wear it." Aries said and then captured his mouth in a long passionate kiss.

When they finally broke apart, Marco turned and walked over to the counter and purchased the outfit with shoes that matched that Aries picked out herself. He was determined to make her happy and if buying this outfit did that, he bought the outfit. He just couldn't get past how much he liked that hippie outfit that Aries had pointed out to him so he bought one of those as well against Aries' protests. He looked and found the perfect pair of shoes to go with it and bought those as well. Aries rolled her eyes at his personal selections and ran through her mind just how she would manage to make those "misappear". She came up with several ideas and worked out a profile on just how to handle that delicate situation.

They walked out of the store with Marco carrying the bags and Aries smiling grandly. She'd managed to get him to take the first step towards good fashion sense. This would definitely be a day to remember!

Note: The word misappear above is not a mistake. It is a word that I made up a long time ago, which means to make disappear supposedly accidentally, which is actually purposely. It's kinda a joke.

Part Two:

The day progressed beautifully as Aries and Marco entered and exited more stores. Aries had bought a few items for herself claiming that her wardrobe could absolutely not do without them and had managed to talk Marco into buying a few more outfits for himself that met with her approval.

They grabbed dinner in a romantic Italian restaurant with a view of the lake and lit by candles. They each sipped wine and talked softly about their plans for the next day. Both of them had a few days downtime unless something major came up and they planned to spend them together.

"Why are you so gung ho on me buying outfits that I just don't like?" Marco asked her softly trying to find out what her plan was.

"What? I can't want you to look good in style?" Aries asked innocently.

"I have my own style. You know that." Marco said.

"Yes I know you do and there's nothing wrong with that. What's wrong with wearing clothes that are currently in style too though?" Aries asked still playing her innocent act. She could tell that he hadn't noticed his cow shirt missing and she was grateful for that.

"Because they're not me." Marco replied and took a sip of his wine.

"Marco, it's not as if I'm dressing you up as a doll and parading you around town! The clothes I point out and have you try on actually do fit your personality and who you are as a person. I'm not trying to turn you into something you're not!" Aries said defensively. She felt as if he was accusing her of something that she truly wasn't doing and it hurt her deeply.

"I didn't say that you were trying to change me into something that I'm not now did I?" Marco asked in response. It felt like they had a fight coming on and this restaurant was not the place for it.

"That's what it sounded like you were saying." Aries responded and took a sip of water instead of the wine. She needed to keep a clear head for this conversation and the wine would certainly not help that out any.

"That's not what I was saying at all." Marco said and reached across the table and took her hand in his. "I like the clothes that I have and that I wear. They're comfortable. I just don't feel comfortable in the other clothes that you were pointing out to me today."

"Well, they do make fashionable clothes like the ones that we looked at today in various fabrics that may be a bit more comfortable for you. Would you like to try those instead?" Aries tried instead.

"This is important to you isn't it?" Marco asked slightly giving in and recognizing that it truly was important to her.

"Yes it is." Aries said softly and looked into his eyes.

"I don't see why but I'll try out the different outfits. If they don't feel comfortable on though, I won't buy them. Is that agreed?" Marco asked bending a bit.

"That sounds fine to me. Agreed." Aries responded and they spent the rest of dinner chatting softly and laughing brightly. He loved to see and hear her laugh.

When they finished with dinner, they walked over to a record and movie store and picked out a few CDs and movies that they both liked and purchased them. Once they were finished with that, they headed back to Marco's apartment and watched several of the movies cuddled up on the couch together.

After the first movie was over, Aries put in once of the CDs that they'd bought and Marco cringed realizing that it was the one CD that he didn't like. He couldn't stand country music with the exception of the song he'd dedicated to her at the Valentines Day dance. Here she was playing Lonestar! She skipped several songs until she got to the one that she wanted to listen to and then walked over to where he was sitting there watching her sipping on his beer that they'd picked up. She took the beer from his hand, set it on the table and then pulled him to standing. He heard the mellow sounds of the music, not quite sounding too much like country, filter through the air and then he let her pull him into her arms and they began swaying to the music.

So you say your love's about to end
You say you can't take no more
She's out the door
And your looking for a friend

Who am I to tell you why
But I'm just curious, were you furious
Or did you swallow your pride
And look her in the eye and

"So, is this song really so bad?" Aries whispered in his ear as they held each other closely and swayed in tune to the music and each other's bodies.

Tell her that you love her
Tell her that you need her
Tell her that you want her to stay
Reassure her with a kiss
She may never know unless you
Show her what your feeling
Tell her you're believing
Even though it's hard to say
'Cause she needs to know you're thinking of her
So open up and tell her that you love her

"Not really. Actually, I kinda like it." Marco responded surprised. Aries smiled at his response and continued listening to the song and enjoying the feeling of being in his arms. Neither spoke a word for the rest of the song.

Brother I've been right where you are now
And my heart was broke
'Cause I never spoke
Those healing words out loud

But I've learned my lesson well
And now every night
Before I close my eyes
I look at my woman and
I ask myself did you

Tell her that you love her
Tell her that you need her
Tell her that you want her to stay
Reassure her with a kiss
She may never know unless you
Show her what your feeling
Tell her you're believing
Even though it's hard to say
'Cause she needs to know you're thinking of her
So open up and tell her that you love her

Tell her that you love her

Tell her that you love her
Tell her that you need her
Tell her that you want her to stay
Reassure her with a kiss
She may never know unless you
Show her what your feeling
Tell her you're believing
Even though it's hard to say
'Cause she needs to know you're thinking of her
So open up and tell her that you love her
Tell her that you love her

Once the song was over, Aries and Marco stood there holding each other not paying attention to the change of song. They looked deeply into each other's eyes lost in the moment. It wasn't until someone began banging on the door that they snapped out of the moment. Marco managed to pull away and answer the door as Aries grabbed her beer and began searching the CD for another song that she wanted to hear.

Part Three:

Aries was startled to see DeLeah push her way into Marco's apartment.

"Heya Chica!" She called walking straight over to where Aries was at the CD player.

"Hey DeLeah." Aries said and then smiled. "What's up?"

"Not much. Just wanted to see how your day went and you weren't at your apartment so I figured that I'd check over here for you." DeLeah said happily.

"Our day went fine. We did some shopping and then had a nice romantic dinner. We just got finished watching a movie a little bit ago." Aries responded as she noticed Marco walk into the kitchen.

"Cool. What movie did you guys watch?" She asked brightly sitting down on the couch.

"We watched My Best Friend's Wedding." Aries said turning off the CD player and sitting next to DeLeah on the couch.

"Oh, I love that movie!" DeLeah said enthusiastically. Aries saw out of the corner of her eye that Marco had returned from the kitchen and was gathering up the things that he'd purchased for himself and taking them upstairs. DeLeah noticed his retreat as well.

"Did I interrupt something?" She asked quietly.

"No. We were just dancing and enjoying each other's company." Aries said with a smile on her face.

"JUST dancing? Oh give me a break!" DeLeah said and then laughed. Aries reassured her that all they had truly been doing was dancing.

"We've had a good day and we were ending it on a good note." Aries commented noting that Marco hadn't returned downstairs just yet.

"Well, I'm happy for you!" DeLeah said brightly and then leaned over and whispered to her friend, "Any luck with the retraining so far?"

"Yup, it's been great!" Aries said in her normal voice and DeLeah got the message.

"Well, I need to get going otherwise Antonio will send out a search party!" DeLeah said laughing and both of them stood up. Aries walked DeLeah to the door and promised to call her the next day. With that, DeLeah left and Aries walked upstairs to find out where Marco had disappeared to She found him lying on the bed with his eyes closed and his shirt stripped off.

She walked over and leaned over to kiss him. His arms wrapped around her quickly pulling her down to him. When they pulled apart he looked at her. "Is she gone?"

Aries laughed lightly. "Yes, she's gone. You know, you could have been a bit more polite!"

"I'm sorry. I wanted you to myself today and I just felt…" Marco said as his voice trailed off.

"I know and I'm sorry. I didn't know that she was going to drop by." Aries responded and placed another kiss on his mouth.

"That's ok. We're alone now. That's what matters." He said and kissed her again. When they broke apart, Aries laid down beside him and they just laid there holding each other not saying a word.
