Valentine Divorce
By: DeLeah

"I want a divorce!" Rita screamed at him.

Roarke raised an eyebrow, "I thought you didn't remember us getting married?" he asked calmly. Even though Rita was ready to kill him he wasn't worried; she always had the temper of the devil and only his calm nature had ever been able to get her to come down off that temper.

Rita looked guilty, "I don't!" she said between gritted teeth.

"Then how can we get divorced if we were never married?" he asked.

"Don't play stupid Roarke! Everyone has been drilling it into me for the past few months that you and I are married!" she yelled as she threw yet another object at his head!

That broke his calm. In two strides he was at Rita's side disarming her of any more objects prying them from her fingers but not before he got a good swift kick in the shins.

"Damn it Rita would you stop and listen!" he growled.

"You have nothing to say that I want to hear" she informed him as she struggled to regain her freedom.

"How do you know until you hear what it is I have to say?" he asked as he finally succeeded in pinning her arms behind her back.

"Fine! Talk!" she spat as she continued to struggle.

Roarke sighed, 'why were women so damn hard to reason with?'

All of a sudden Rita found herself dropped to the floor with a heavy Roarke on top of her. He was kissing her passionately like there was no tomorrow. The kiss grew heated and Rita slowly lost her anger; instead, she gained the pleasure of it and put herself into it.

"Now was that so bad?" Roarke asked as he pulled back for a moment.

Seconds after he'd made that comment he found himself thrown off of her with a force of sheer will power and found himself the enemy at her mercy.

"Now listen here" Rita ordered. "I'm tired of you're games and techniques. I am getting a divorce from you if I have to shoot you myself" she said vehemently!

Roarke didn't look a bit intimidated. Instead, he lay there looking a bit interested.

That just got Rita all the more worked up. She tugged him up and pushed him out the door.

"I don't want to see you for the rest of mine or you're lives!" she said slamming the door finally.

Rita was furious! How dare he compromise Sherry in that mission just to save a level one recruit! The whole mission went haywire after he broke protocol. It was a good thing that DeLeah and Brenna had been in position to acquire the target or they would never have had success. From the moment that he had broken position the mission had gone downhill. Then, after all that, he had the nerve in the mission van to tell her to shut up and sit down like he was in charge of the mission! And all because he fancied the level one recruit!

DeLeah had heard the shouting and when she heard Rita throw Roarke out she knew something was definitely wrong.

"Rita" DeLeah called out as she knocked.

"Yes?" Rita asked as she opened the door looking kind of drained.

"Are you alright?" DeLeah asked worried.

"I'm fine. Why do you care anyways?" Rita snapped.

DeLeah looked into the other girl's eyes for a minute before quietly storming out.

Rita looked down at the floor. She hadn't meant that at all. She was just angry and hurt and she had taken that out on a friend that had wanted to make sure she was all right. She'd have to make it up to her somehow.

Part 2

The next morning Rita was up bright and early for an appointment she had to keep with Madeline.

"What's on you're mind?" Madeline asked after they had finished discussing business.

"What do you mean?" Rita asked blankly.

Madeline smiled, "You've not had you're mind on the mission all morning. Something's bothering you"

"Yes there is something I've been meaning to talk to you about." Rita said slowly.

Madeline waited for her to go on.

"I need a section lawyer" Rita finally blurted out.

Madeline raised a perfectly arched eyebrow, "Is there something I need to know about?" she asked.

"Yes, I'm filing for a divorce" Rita declared.

Madeline nodded, "I thought it might come to this. Are you asking for a settlement through this divorce as well?"

"Of course not" Rita snapped. "Are we suppose to settle it with him having the explosives and me with the guns?" she asked sarcastically.

Madeline smiled, "It was a simple request" she said softly.

Rita stopped, "sorry" she offered.

Madeline nodded. "Here is the operative's codename...she is from section 4. I'll have her transferred here for a day"

Rita nodded. "Thank you Maddy" she offered as she quickly left
the office.

"Jasmine" Rita said.

Later Rita was going through paperwork again when a knock sounded on her door. She looked through the vidcam to identify the person but it was someone she didn't recognize. She frantically scanned the computer thinking she had missed a new recruit when Birkoff came over the speaker identifying the young Asian woman as Jasmine.

"Thank you Birkoff" Rita murmured as she opened the door for her.

Rita stood, "Welcome to Section 1" Rita greeted her.

"Thank you" Jasmine murmured. "The structure of Section 1 is so difficult to get used to"

"How so?" Rita inquired.

Jasmine smiled, "Well everyone within CLHQ is allowed the personal component and relationships. You also have an operations, 4 mini miss operations, and then the level
recruits." she explained.

Rita smiled at her explanation. "Well, shall we get down to business?" she asked.

"Of course" Jasmine said pulling some papers out of her briefcase.

"Here are the papers for the divorce. Madeline had me draw them up for you before I came. All you need is the male operative's signature in my presence as well as you're own and I will begin the process.

Rita nodded as she hit the speaker button. "Birkoff send Roarke to my office immediately" she said.

"will do" he replied.

Rita waited 20 minutes while her and Jasmine discussed the formalities of the divorce but still Roarke did not show. Finally, Rita got tired of waiting and called him.

"You are suppose to be in my office" Rita snapped.

"I'm sorry. Forgive me for having missions and other duties when you're majesty calls" he snapped.

"You have 4 minutes to be here" Rita warned.

"Wrong" Roarke said.

"What?" Rita fumed.

Suddenly Rita heard the phone being juggled when she heard Michael's voice, "Roarke is busy with me right now Rita and will be for the next several days." Michael informed her.

"You can't spare him for 5 minutes?" Rita asked incredulously.

"No missions are tight" Michael informed her.

"You know that's bull Michael! This is none of you're concern. This is between Roarke and I"

"Not when it's on section time" Michael said as he hung up the phone.

Rita was ready to blow. She could see Jasmine fidgeting. She was sure that her reputation of the Spanish hurricane went far beyond the walls of CLHQ.

"You may be spending a few days with us" Rita informed Jasmine.

Just then Gunther appeared, "Gunther will show you to you're quarters" Rita said dismissing the young lady.

Part 3

Rita was furious with both Michael and Roarke now. 'How dare Michael interfere with her plans!' She was furious as she practically flew down the hall towards the gym where the
monitors said the two men were at.

"Roarke I need to speak with you in my office ASAP!" Rita ordered.

Michael was about to say something when Rita really lost it. "Not one word Michael! Not a word! I certainly don't need you're interference when it comes to my personal life!" she snapped.

Rita calmly followed Roarke out of the room. There was no way he was getting out of this little chitchat now. Rita took a deep breath as she entered her office.

"Have a seat" she said politely knowing full well he would refuse. He did.

"I have some papers for you to sign" Rita said as she handed him the divorce proceedings.

"You can't get rid of me fast enough can you?" Roarke asked angrily.

"You want a divorce just because I messed up on a mission?"

"Yes" Rita inserted.

"Well I won't do it Rita! I love you damnit!" Roarke was beginning to lose his temper.

Rita smiled.

"What's so damn funny?" he asked.

Roarke watched amazed as the Rita face was peeled off from none other than...Aries!

"What the hell is this?" Roarke demanded.

"A test" Aries said. "All of the men go through similar testing in regards to whether they really love their fellow ladies. You passed."

Roarke stood and glared at her.

"You were the first, you won't be the last" Aries smiled as she opened the door for him to exit.

'Happy Valentine's Day Rita and Roarke' Aries murmured.
