Valentine Countdown
By DeLeah

"Paul we have a problem" North announced to her superior and one of many lovers.

Paul raised an eyebrow, "Since when do we not have a problem Northstar?" he asked sighing.

North stood there and glared at him for a moment, "Well I think you'll be interested in this problem" North clarified. "Because if you're not it could interfere with our plans on Valentine's
day."

Paul's head snapped up. "What is it?" he asked.

"It concerns the dance on Valentine's day" North began.

Paul smiled, "You mean when we get to disco the night away?"

North smiled, "Yes Paul" as her eyes danced at the thought of him dancing with her.

"But back to the problem" she said forcing him to once again to focus on her.

"We have the ladies working too much for them to get into the mood for Valentine's day"

Paul stood looking at her not quite believing what he was hearing. "Are you trying to tell me..." he began "that this dance is more important that the missions on pad right now?"

"No of course not" North said feeling her temper flare. "I'm simply saying that we need to get the girls into a...shall we say...different mood"

"And how do you propose to do that?" he asked knowing she already had a plan in her head. She just needed to execute.

North's face grew a great big grin at that. She knew once he said that that she had his approval to proceed. "Oh thank you Paul! You won't regret this!" she promised as she pecked him on the lips and left hurriedly.

"I think I already do" he muttered.

North smiled as she picked up the vial from her office that she had hidden and stuck it in her pocket. "Now let the fun begin" North laughed.

She knew she couldn't change the girl's mood on her own. She knew all to well that another woman couldn't another woman's mind. Especially, if that woman was inside CLHQ. However, certain guys could change certain ladies' minds with some work.

She quickly downloaded all of the scheduled shifts for that day onto her panel before making her rounds. She quickly entered each male operatives room placing a drop of the liquid into their water bottles and then exiting. All operatives were trained early on to drink at least 3 water bottles a day so she was sure they would all get the liquid into their systems. The effect would not bother their daily routines but after their shifts they would become Romeo pursuing their Juliet. While in each of the rooms, she also slipped something into each of the ladies' water bottles too. It should help some of the more aggressive female operatives to mellow out and be persuaded more easily.

North slipped back into her office to make notes of who consumed the potion and when.

By the next morning, everyone had consumed their "water". North smiled, that gave her 3 days until Valentine's day. That should be enough time. Though, the potion had never been tested or used she was sure it would work with minimal abnormalities.

North got up and left the office. It had been a long night and she was ready for a small catnap before the next stage.

North woke up a few hours later and after refreshing herself she decided to go see how the potion was working.

North opened the door to her section headquarters before shutting it with a fierce force.

'No I did not just see that' North tried to calm herself down. After a few minutes of convincing herself she opened the door once again with a gasp.

There running up and down the halls were the male operatives but with cross bows and wings! They weren't costumes either!

Just then Curlly walked up to North, "You feeling alright?" she asked concerned noticing the pale look that the Mama Bear of CLHQ had in her face.

Curlly watched as North's eyes got round once more at the stunned look of Curlly and North pointed. "Do you know that you have wings?" she asked the younger operative.

Curlly grinned, "of course. Aren't they lovely" she asked as she spun them around for inspection.

'Oh god what have I done?" North muttered.

"What? Did you say something North?" Curlly asked.

North shook her head still a little stunned.

Just then she saw Brenna and Nahla walk by in deep conversation both with halos and wings as well.

North quickly checked herself for the extra attachments but found nothing thank goodness.

"You sure you're alright?" Curlly asked still slightly concerned.

"I'm fine" North said re-assuredly. "Thank You"

Curlly nodded as she left the room in search of Sinjin.

North headed to her office to check out the surveillance tapes. As she got there a thought crossed her mind; 'wonder what Rita and DeLeah look like' she mused.

Her fingers flew across the keyboard as she found the both of them together! North could feel a migraine coming on. If they found out who was responsible for this her ass would be grass! "I dunno the color's not too bad on you" Rita informed DeLeah as she observed her indigo blue wings and matching halo.

DeLeah stood and glared at the hurricane mommie for a moment before bursting out laughing. "Well at least my wings aren't orange with 2 matching tails!"

Rita frowned, "Yea why do I get 2 tails and you only get one?" she complained.

DeLeah looked confused for a minute before saying, "One for you and one for training me so well in the ways of the devil?"

Both girls burst out laughing. North shook her head as she watched the two. They were definitely not happy with the current situation. There must also be a personality factor involved in the potion seeing as both DeLeah and Rita had gotten the tails too.

As evening came more and more of the couples were getting romantic.

Sinjin and Curlly were cuddled by the fire talking wedding plans.

Avi and Jack were out in the stables enjoying the stars.

Brenna and Xavier were cuddled on the love seat with a laptop.

DeLeah & Antonio were out strolling through the woods enjoying watching the sun set.

Sherry and O'Brien were in the lounge toasting each other to glass after glass of champagne.

Dragonlady and Damien were in her quarters dancing to some obscene loud music.

Mcddor and Birkoff were in Mcddor's quarters splurging in Whip cream, ice cream, Oreo’s and anything else sweet imaginable.

Genie and Kyle were sitting and reading together.

Aries and Michael were off in a secluded part of the grounds camping under the stars.

Rita and Roarke were curled up together in bed just enjoying the peace and quiet.

Andrea and Ops were...."Ugh" North moaned. "I really didn't want to see that" she told herself as she switched the view quickly.

The next morning North had a meeting with the other mommies to discuss the upcoming dance that would take place tomorrow.

As soon as North saw the other three she nearly cracked up laughing. There Sherry stood with a pair of golden wings and a matching halo. Aries stood next to Sherry in her Silver attire complete with halo and wings however Rita didn't fit in at all! She still had her orange wings, halo, and tails!

"Not a word!" Rita warned. "Not a word!"

North nodded. "OK what do we have left to do for the dance?" North asked as the other 3 settled down to the business at hand.

"OK anything else?" North asked as the meeting concluded. Nobody seemed to have anything else so Rita spoke up,

"Yes but it's off topic" she said.

"Alright what is it Rita?" North asked.

"Why do all of us have wings and all this junk but you don't?" she asked accusingly.

North looked uncomfortable and was relieved with the interruption of her cell phone ringing as she slid out of the office.

Rita stormed out of the office pulling out her cell phone as she plopped down in her chair.

"Yes" the operative on the other end answered.

"My office 10 minutes" Rita ordered hanging up.

DeLeah quickly made her way to Rita's office. She didn't sound like she was in a very good mood and it wouldn't do to keep her waiting. Along the way though DeLeah inwardly laughed at how ridiculous some of the operatives looked. Each couple had their own color of wings and halos. They ranged from pink to yellow, to orange to purple. Though today most of the operatives had dressed in the same color as their new attire in an attempt to make it blend in.

DeLeah knocked before entering the office. She raised an eyebrow at Rita, "What no orange attire to blend in?" she teased.

Rita glared at her. "I don't see you wearing blue either" she pointed out.

DeLeah smiled wryly, "You know me. I tend to be different"

"I'll say" Rita commented laughing.

"What's up anyways?" DeLeah asked.

"I think I may have a lead on who started this mess" Rita said but I need you to do some digging and socializing to confirm it"

DeLeah nodded, "sure. What do you need?"

Rita quickly outlined her plan and DeLeah left to prepare.

Hours later Rita and DeLeah met back in Rita's office to discuss things.

"Did you find anything?" Rita questioned.

DeLeah shook her head, "No but there is one person who doesn't seem to be affected by all of this"

"North" Rita said.

DeLeah nodded, "I say we find out why and we find our solution."

"Fine. Let's just see what happens tomorrow and we'll take it from there." Rita said.

DeLeah nodded, she just wanted to get out of here. Antonio was waiting for her in her quarters and she wanted to get back.

The next afternoon saw all of the girls excited and preparing for the dance that night. The men had all decided to get ready downstairs as they seemed to be getting in the way with the girls running from each other's rooms for different things.

By 6pm they were ready as they paraded themselves down to the dance.

Miraculously, as soon as each lady slid into the arms of their other half the wings and halos all disappeared.

"Happy Valentine's Day!" North smiled as most of the girls started to pout at losing their wings and halos. Rita and DeLeah however smiled and hi-fived each other as they watched North's horns and halos appear for the first time.

The End!
