THIS LONELY FACE IN THE CROWD

by

You walk by with all your friends,
And look at me,
But still don't see,
This lonely face in the crowd.

I dream of having lots of friends,
And shedding this void I carry,
Only no one seems to care about,
This lonely face in the crowd.

My heart cries out,
But no one ever listens,
No one wants to hear from,
This lonely face in the crowd.

One day I will have some friends,
Who care about me,
And all of your friends,
Will have left you to be,
The lonely face in the crowd.

When that time comes,
As it surely will,
I will stop to listen to,
The lonely face in the crowd.

I know I shouldn't,
Because you didn't,
But I will anyways, because,
I know how it feels to be,
The lonely face in the crowd.
