COME HAIL, SLEET OR SNOW

BY....NIKITA507

The snow was falling heavily as I looked out the window. I swallowed and looked around the cabin. I was given a chance to get out before the weather hit, but I didn't. I watched as it hailed and then a round of heavy sleet. There had to be around two inches of ice underneath the now six inches of snow.

I turned and looked at my pile of wood. I was sure that there was enough, but after watching the weather station (I was lucky, I still had cable), I pulled my clothes on to struggle into the snow. And I was doing fine, until I tried to walk back up to the cabin. There was a series of four stairs, and the second stair did me in.

The pain shot through my right leg and tears froze to my face as I struggled to move. I pushed the wood away and tried to push up, but the ankle felt like it had become detached from my leg. I looked up, and now the cabin looked so far away.I looked around in a panic. I needed to get inside, but I couldn't even move without pain running up my leg. I told myself that most of the pain was of the cold, but it did not matter. I could not move. I turned and tried to crawl. As I did so, I allowed screams to float in the air. They reflected my pain as I did not expect someone to be nearby.

"Stop! Don't move. You will make it worse." A voice said behind me and I flopped down into the snow. I felt a push at my jacket and I turned around to find a heavily covered man. I could only see his green eyes. He wore a dark blue hat tightly tied around his head and that was continued throughout his attire. All dark blue, all tightly around his body.

"Let me." He said as he leaned carefully down and pulled me up. I looked down and saw his boots had a row of ice spikes. He carefully walked into the cabin and set me down on the chair near the door. He pushed the door closed and turned to me.

"Where are you hurt?" He asked and I looked at my right leg. He moved quickly, removing the boot from that foot and I howled in pain. His hand runs up the rest of my leg, and soon we both knew that injuries were sustained only to the right ankle.

"I will help you get out of your jacket in a moment. Then I will put a brace on that ankle." He says and I nod my head. He pulls off his gloves and moves towards the door. He pulls the snow pants off to reveal a beautiful set of buns and legs. I smile softly and turn my head away. I couldn't believe I was thinking that way.

I did not watch as he pulled the hat and jacket off. He moved back towards me and squatted down.

"Now what is your name?" He asked and I looked into a face that I had seen more than a thousand times, more than fifty times daily, a face that claimed screensaver space on my computer and dominated my locket at work.

"You… you.. you are… Roy… Michael… Roy.. Roy.." I stutter out and he smiles broadly. My heart flutters. It was not a common site on the show, and rare pictures of the smile were a hot item on the Internet. I wanted to reach out and touch him, to make sure he was really real, and not just an image of my dreams.

"Yes, I am Roy Dupuis." Roy says as he looks at my face and laughs slightly. He starts to unbutton my jacket and pulls off the hat from my head.

"Oh.. my.. Roy… Roy…" I stutter out and he laughs deeply.

"It's good to see that I can effectively ease pain away." Roy jokes and I nod my head in agreement as I am stunned with his presence. I blink my eye and he is still there. He is TOUCHING ME!

Slowly I reach my hand out and touch his hand as he continues to unbutton my jacket. He stops and looks at me.

"You still haven't told me." Roy says as he looks at me with his green eyes. I look at him and blink again.

"Tell you what?" I ask and Roy smiles broadly again. It was so beautiful. It was so genuine. It was time to start a letter writing campaign to allow Roy to smile more often.

"Your name." Roy says and I nod my head and he laughs. "You are definitely a fan." Roy says and I nod my head.

"Michelle." I answer finally after staring into his eyes a few more minutes. I look down at my hand that still tightly has Roy's hand. I am holding Roy's hand. I blink at the hand and look up at Roy.

"You are real." I said and he laughs hard.

"Wait till I tell Don that you said that!" Roy says and I look around and stare at Roy.

"Don Francks?!?" I scream and Roy smiles.

"Yes… now… We need to get you out of those wet jeans." Roy says tenderly and I look around. It was weird enough that a man that was not a doctor and was not my boyfriend, wanted my pants off.

"Can't we just cut them?" I ask as Roy stands up and pulls the blankets down from the bed that was not far away. He looks at me and then throws a few more pieces of wood into the fire.

"They are wet. You will get a cold." Roy says and I look at him and he smiles. "That was why I looked like the Abominable Snowman… The producers would kill me if I get sick." Roy says and I stare at him and then to my ankle, that now is throbbing in pain.

"See… we need to take care of that." Roy says as he moves towards me. Carefully he stands me back up and starts to pull at the pants. I cry out in pain as I place weight on my ankle. Roy picks up the injured leg and slides the jeans off and sets me back down. He takes the other leg and pulls the pants off. Then in a sudden movement, he picks me up and places me back down on the bed. He pulls the blankets over me and sits on the edge of the bed.

"Oh my god… they are going to scream when I tell them that Roy Dupuis took my pants off!" I say and Roy laughs loudly.

"Let's not worry about your friends right now. I think you have broken your ankle." Roy said softly and I turned my head to the side and bit my lip.

"I don't do so well with pain." I responded and Roy laughed and nodded his head. He pulled the heavy blanket up from the feet and shook his head.

"Don't pretend you are a doctor either! I know you aren't!" I said as I see the frown on his face. I watched as he looked blankly at my face and I felt the blood in my veins stop.

"Don't blank stare me either!" I screamed and sat up in bed to look at my ankle myself. I looked down and then turned to the side. "I think I am going to get sick." I said as I flopped down and moaned a bit.

Roy walked to the cupboard and started to look around for something. I lifted an eyelid open and looked at him as he bent over. It was such a great sight, that it almost allowed me to forget the pain in my ankle.

"What are you looking for?" I asked before Roy caught on what I was looking at so blatantly.

"Did you bring a first aid kit?" Roy asked and I looked to the closet. Roy moved to it and pulled out the box marked with a huge red cross on it. He opened it and smiled as he saw the tape that he was going to need.

"Use the magazines." I responded before Roy could look back at me. So, with my comment, he turns and looks at me.

"You need to make a brace. None of the wood is thin enough, but you can make a proper brace with thick magazines… The Vogue and the Bride should be thick enough." I said and he picked up the magazines and looked at me.

"Are you engaged?" Roy asked and I shook my head quickly.

"Me, engaged! You have me wrong. I am helping to plan my best friend's wedding." I said with a huge smile and Roy smiled back at me. "I hate doing it, but I let her think that I like it." I replied and then stopped. Why was I talking so much? It had to be because of the pain.

"Why do you hate it? I would think it would be fun planning someone else's wedding?" Roy asked as he took the magazines and walked to my ankle. I knew what he was doing.

"I'm a psychology major. I know you are trying to divert my attention from my ankle to something else… but really.. the best thing to get my mind off of my ankle is your butt." I said plainly and then I covered my mouth.

"I didn't just say that." I asked and Roy smiles and turns around.

"Am I distracting you now?" Roy asked as he looked over his shoulder and I knew I turned a bright shade of red.

"I.. I… I…" I stutter out as again I realize who I am exactly talking to. I turned my head and looked away. I felt the pain as he lifted the ankle up and started to wrap the magazines around my ankle. I cried softly, but tried to keep the screams from being heard.

"There.. there.. I'm all done." Roy said as he suddenly wrapped his arms around my head and held me to his warm chest. I leaned in and closed my eyes. Here I was with Roy Dupuis, stranded on the bed, making a complete idiot of myself with inserting my foot in my big mouth, and now I was crying. I couldn't believe how stupid I had been so far, but I couldn't stop the tears. I was in so much pain.

"Maybe there is pain medication around here." Roy said as he pulled back and I nodded my head and looked towards the box. He rummaged through the box and pulled out the bottle. I sighed in relief and looked at him.

"Not to complain.. but I am cold." I said and Roy looked at me and nodded his head. He moved around the cabin and looked into the little refrigerator.

"My mother use to give me warm milk to make me sleep. I think the best thing I can do for you is to give you this medicine and get you to sleep some." Roy said and I nodded my head. I didn't want to agree with his plan, but it made the most sense.

Now I was disappointed at myself. I was going to have to go to sleep, and not stay awake and learn more about Roy Dupuis. Aries and North would be very disappointed in me. I wouldn't learn anything more about him. I wouldn't learn if he likes to use a comb or a brush. I wouldn't learn if he liked Scooby Doo or Snoopy better. It just wasn't fair.

Yet, I willingly took the warm milk from the mug that Roy handed me and took the medicine. I moaned as Roy elevated my ankle and tucked the blankets around my chin. I licked my lips and tasted the milk on my lips. If Roy only knew.

"Are you still cold?" Roy asked and I nodded my head. He looked to the roaring fire. I looked at it too. We could not put more wood onto it. He looked around and found no more blankets. He slowly pulled off his shoes and slid carefully into bed. Roy Dupuis then placed his hands around my waist and held me tight!

ROY DUPUIS!

~~<>~~<>~~<>~~<>~~<>~~<>~~

My first thoughts were not of that Roy Dupuis still had his hands wrapped around my body. My first thoughts were not of that I just slept with Roy Dupuis (in the closed-eyed meaning). My first thoughts were not of how much cuter Roy Dupuis is in real life. It was of pain. In my back. And I screamed.

Roy quickly moved and looked at me as I tried to grab hold of my lower back to rub the tough cramp out. Roy looked at me and then pushed at my hands.

"No.. I can…" I said stubbornly and Roy kept moving his hands. He moved his body lower on mine, to were his lips were near my belly button and started to rub my lower back. He hit the tender muscle and I arched my head back as the pain started to slowly subside.

"Ah… just a little bit more…" I moan out and Roy looked up at my face.

"You look beautiful like that." Roy commented and I suddenly sat all the way up, that only ended up sliding Roy's head further down on my body.

"Please." I said as I pushed at his head, suddenly very uncomfortable. I looked around and then started to cry for no reason at all.

Roy walked around the cabin for a few minutes, but I guess I had cried too long. He moved back to the bed and sat down. He rubbed my cheek. I turned my head and shook it. Roy stood up again and walked to the little stove.

"My mother use to give me warm milk to calm down." Roy said as he walked over with the mug of the warm milk. I took it and sipped at it slowly. I licked some up and looked at Roy. He smiled and laughed brightly.

"What is it?" I asked and Roy moved his hand out and rubbed his thumb across the brim of my lip. I closed my eyes at the touch.. The area continued to tingle, even as Roy's thumb moved away from my mouth. I slowly opened my eyes and blinked to look at Roy.

"Milk moustache." Roy said and I nodded and took another sip. He slowly moved towards my face again with his hand, but I reach out and hold it.

"I always wanted you to have a milk moustache." I said and Roy lifted an eyebrow. He took his own mug and looked at me.

"Why?" Roy asked and I smiled and laughed.

"Well you are a sex symbol! I wonder why!" I asked and Roy looked at me in a half-confused look. I rolled my eyes and dropped my head.

"Can I just see a milk moustache on you?" I asked and Roy sipped the warm milk. The milk left a heavy moustache and I licked my lips.

"Let me show you the correct way to get rid of milk moustaches." I said and Roy nodded his head.

I placed my hands on his shoulders and pulled him closer to me. I looked deep into his eyes. It was no longer the real man in my hands. It was the man in my dreams. The man who would not mind me licking the milk moustache off slowly.

I didn't even look into the green eyes as I knew if I saw them that I would lose my nerve. I slowly extended my tongue and wiped away the milk moustache and then pulled away. I turn my head and cover my face quickly.

"I can't believe I just did that! I AM SO SORRY!!!!" I screamed out and plunged my head underneath three pillows. Maybe if I stayed underneath the pillows long enough, that he would leave. I held my eyes tightly, until the hands pulled the pillows away.I looked up and Roy smiled at me.

"What is it?" I asked firmly and Roy took my shoulders.

"You should have looked at yourself." Roy said and leaned up to clean my own.

I lost all sense of time and place as his tongue first licks away the milk residue, and then plunged into my mouth. It was sweet heaven

Roy shifted his body on the bed as his mouth was attached to mine. I was beginning to roll my hands down his back when his hand pushed at my leg and there was the pain again. I pulled back and dropped immediately back, hoping to hit the pillow. But my body had shifted and on the way down, I hit the back of my head hard against the headboard of the bed.

Roy moved instantly, pulling the leg back onto the pillow that kept it up and then over to my head to cradle it.

"I am so sorry." Roy said and I blinked my eyes as I continued to see stars. Only would I hit my head and almost pass out when with Roy Dupuis. I struggled to get rid of the stars and to concentrate on his green eyes. I licked my lips and smiled.

"It's all right. I tend to be accident prone, just not all at once." I said and Roy smiled and laughed tenderly as he folded the pillow in half and sat my head down.

"Well, I hope that is your last one." Roy said as he sat down on the floor next to the bed and looked at me. We sat there staring at each other with nothing to say or anything. I turned my head and turned back to Roy.

"Well, isn't this odd?" I asked and Roy closed his eyes briefly and nodded his head. He took my hand and rubbed it.

"I have been meaning to ask you something." Roy asked and I swallowed. Fear ran through my body, and I looked at Roy and it was like he saw the emotion coursing through my body.

"Do you like me or Michael better?" Roy asked and I laughed brightly. He had a way of stopping the fear before it got out of hand.

"Oh.. Now that is hard…. Mmmm… I think I like you better." I said playfully and Roy smiled and nodded his head.

"I was hoping you were going to say that." Roy said and I smiled. I turned my head and took in a deep breath. I had never felt this way before. It was different, it was odd. Maybe I had crushes before, with the guy who was gay and the guy who liked to crash pop cans in on his head, but nothing like this. And it scared the hell out of me. PLUS IT WAS ROY DUPUIS! It had to be a crush. It had always been a crush.

"A CRUSH!" I screamed out and Roy stood up and hovered above my body.

"I don't think of it is a crush when the other person feels the same way." Roy said and I turned my head and looked at him.

"I think I am going to be sick." I said and Roy smiled and laughed.

"Scary? Huh?" Roy asked and I quickly nodded my head until he took his hands and cupped my head. I stopped as his thumb traced my mouth again. I held my body as still as it could as it trembled from the touch of Roy's. I stared at his eyes and carefully swallowed as his hand cupped mine. Suddenly I knew how it felt like to be Peta Wilson. His hand was so warm, so soft against my cheek and his fingertips nearly brushed my ear. It was wonderful. Maybe this was better than Peta Wilson's life. He was just acting there.

"I am scared too. I never intended on falling in love with a fan." Roy said and I felt the air in my chest get caught as my mind played the word over and over again in my mind. Love. Love. Love. Love. I wanted to pinch myself to know that I wasn't still dreaming. Maybe I had been knocked out from the blow to the head. Maybe Roy Dupuis wasn't really holding me and he didn'tjust say that he was in love with me.

Roy started to lean down to kiss me. I closed my eyes as his warm wet lips took over my lips. I willingly opened my mouth for his tongue to tenderly explore every area of my mouth and our tongues met, there was a sizzle of electricity. Again, I was seeing stars.

I had died. Roy didn't save me. I was in heaven. That was what I told myself. There was no way this was real life. Things this good did not happen in real life. I felt the kiss end, but I did not open my eyes.

"Open your eyes." Roy said softly as his face was still near mine. I slowly opened my eyes and looked as Roy moved back down to my mouth again. His eyes stared into mine as his lips touched mine. I looked into the green eyes and saw a passion I could not identify. He rolled his hands down my shoulders and moved his body into mine. It was real. And I was with Roy Dupuis.

"The snow has stopped." Roy said the next morning as he looked back from the window he was staring out of. I licked my lips and smiled at the scene.

"Do you have the tendency to redo scenes from the show in real life?" I carefully asked from my bed.

Roy turned his head and dropped the curtain. He raised an eyebrow and I looked at his body again, slowly. It was in its naked glory. The same naked glory that warmed me throughout the night.

"Oh.' Roy said and he blushed lightly and pulled at a towel and walked back towards the bed. He sat down and strokes my cheek softly.

"I should go get help today." Roy said softly and I looked at him. I took his hand and kissed it softly.

"Can't we wait for the snow to melt?" I asked and Roy laughed broadly.

"I don't think the producers would like to hear that I am stuck in a cabin, with a fan who has a broken ankle, waiting for the snow to melt." Roy said and I turned my head away and looked to the window just above me. I sat up slowly and held the blanket to my cover my body.

"Go." I said and Roy nodded his head and started to dress.

~~<>~~<>~~<>~~<>~~<>

"Where have you been?" Aries wrote to me as I sat in a bus station, waiting for my long trip home. The lap top computer was a gift from the man who rented me the cabin.

"Long story. Broke my ankle." I typed and frowned. I was so tempted just to break the connection. It was too hard. My mind was no where but on the five days I spent trapped in the cabin with Roy Dupuis, and no one would believe me. He had gathered help and watched me go to the hospital in an ambulance, and then disappeared. He must have had to get back to work.

"You wouldn't believe what we heard about Roy!" Aries pronounced and I raised an eyebrow and typed the next question quickly."What?"

"He was trapped in a snow storm… with a girl who broke her ankle! Don't you wish you were THAT broken ankle girl!" Aries typed out and I closed my eyes.

I no longer wanted to be that broken ankle girl. Roy had wooed me. My heart was now broken. It was scattered in pieces. I forced a smile.

"Sure! Some lucky girl gets to spend five days in a cabin with Roy.. she better have gotten pictures!" I typed and then closed the screen. I could not take anymore. I wondered how the story got out, but then I didn't care any longer. Roy Dupuis had gone back to Toronto to continue taping for the show, and I had to struggle with the lap top computer, the crutches and the non- walking ankle cast.

"Did you read the Internet post yet on the WB board?" a familiar voice asked from behind me. I turned and looked as Roy walked through the bus station with several television crews behind him. I looked at him and blinked.

"No. Aries told me." I said and Roy smiled and placed the lap top computer in the hands of someone else and took my hands.

"I want you to recuperate in Toronto. I must show you that Canada has some better things than snowed in cabins and small hospitals, and busy bus stations." Roy said and I looked at him with a smile. "And all your friends will now believe you. Hey, I think I can get you a part in the show… how about an operative who broke their ankle?" Roy asked and I nodded my head with tears running down my face.

"But my school work…" I said and Roy smiled and looked at the computer.

"I have taken care of that, if you want, school can be taken care of via Internet." Roy said and I smiled. Roy pulled me up into his arms and carried me through the bus station to a waiting limo.

~~<>~~<>~~<>~~<>~~<>~~<>~~

"The WB website on La Femme Nikita as been receiving record amounts of hits today, as news of Roy Dupuis rescuing of a fan spread quickly. Roy had posted the initial report, while the fan had ample time to do it herself. The post brought a rapid-fire debate of its authenticity, and then the camera crews followed Roy Dupuis as he gathered the fan from the bus station to take her to Toronto for her recovery. To quote Mr. Roy Dupuis, "I must show you that Canada has some better things than snowed in cabins and small hospitals and busy bus stations." Our camera crews followed the limo as it pulled away from the bus station, but soon it had disappeared. Tonight, one lucky Roy Dupuis fan is smiling, and the Internet is all a buzz…. Now.. onto HockeyNews…." The announcer said and I turned off the television. Roy rubbed my naked back lightly and pushed the stand towards me.

"Have a look." Roy said and I turned on the computer and found the filled e-mail box. I laugh as I suddenly gather tens of instant messages.

"Looks like I am going to have to change my screen name!" I joked and turned off the computer. This night was for me and Roy… like the many that followed.
